           is now Roof / Snow Shoveling and removing ice dams here in Keene, NH and surrounding towns. It is best to remove snow from your eaves when you have up to a foot or more on the roof. When you have a build up of snow, it will continue to compact more on your roof mainly from ice or rain storms. When it refreezes it could form a layer of ice over your whole roof, which is likely create ice dams or condensation within your insulation, or rafter system. You will be able to tell this is happening when you can see about 2-4 inches of ice built up along your over hang. Now would be the time to get your roof shoveled before any ice dams back up and ruin your insulation or sheetrock on the inside of your home! Once insulation in a roof get wets it can stay wet up to months, and lose all of the R Value.
